The City of Independence will once again host
Spring Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 3, 2025
Volunteers are greatly appreciated. Please call 763-479-0527 if you can help out!This event is for residents of Independence, MN only! Absolutely no commercial business drop-offs will be accepted. Fees will be collected for items stated and exact change is required- cash or checks payable to "The City of Independence." Only 1 free load per household will be taken. No extra loads will be accepted. Please have your ID out when you pull up as they will be checked.

Please see below since there are charges for certain items.
ACCEPTED Materials:
· Air Conditioners
· Appliances dehumidifiers, heat pumps, water heaters, microwaves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc.
· Batteries Auto and Household
· Bicycles *donated to a charity who cleans them up and distributes to those in need
· Bulbs/Fluorescent Tubes, Ballasts, Light Fixtures In original packaging or surrounded by cardboard. DO NOT tape together. Must be dissembled and ballasts disconnected from housing unit.
· Carpet (Rolled)
· Construction Material/Debris/Junk doors, lumber, fences, tile, sheetrock
· Electronics
· Mattresses, Box Springs, Upholstered Furniture $20/mattress
· Propane Tanks
· Scrap Iron/Metal ALL plastic removed; Tanks/Barrels must be cut in half.
· Tires with or without rims $5/tire (maximum of 8 tires)
**Residents may contact Metropolitan Mosquito Control District/ MMCD from May through September for free tire pickup and recycling. Visit their website to see their full eligibility requirements. It is dependent on weather and their other mosquito control priorities. Call 651-645-9149 or use their Submit a Tip form to schedule your collection.

· YARD WASTE Randy’s-Republic is unable to accept Yard Waste from Hennepin County residents, however The Mulch Store does. Scan their QR code below to see their hours and fees.
· HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE paints, cleaning chemicals, solvents, etc.
